St Peter’s Island
The next island on our list of the most beautiful islands in Switzerland is St Peter’s Island. What was once an island, now a peninsula jutting into Lake Biel, St Peter's Island, is just a few minutes drives from Bern.
It is said to be the site of a 12th-century convent, now a restaurant and hotel, loved by Rousseau. The beautiful scenery, incredible mountain views, long lonely hikes, boating, and bathing in flower meadows gave Rousseau a yet-unknown peace of mind.
The island is ideal for walkers and cyclists as it is car-free. It has been the best foodie for years and flaunts lake fish, local wine, and heirloom beef. As they roam the island, hikers will be overwhelmed by the local plant life. The Heidenweg Road is an explorable place in fine weather.
Tourists get to enjoy some of the best dishes like fresh fish, wine, and beef. Visiting the island gives people the feeling of visiting a whole new world. St Peter's Island is unlike any other island in Switzerland.
