Starship Entertainment

Starship Entertainment was founded by Kim Shi Dae, on January 28, 2008. Starship Ent's first artists included K.Will, followed by groups such as Sistar, Boyfriend, Monsta X, Cosmic Girls, and Jeong Se-woon.

On December 18, 2013, 70% of the company's shares were acquired by Kakao M (formerly LOEN Entertainment), making Starship Entertainment a subsidiary. In May 2015, Starship Entertainment acquired 100% of the shares of King Kong Entertainment in a strategic partnership alliance. On January 2, 2017, Starship Entertainment and King Kong Entertainment officially merged. The management together agreed to use the name Starship Entertainment while the agency's actors management department would operate under the name King Kong by Starship.

All singers operating under the management of Starship Entertainment are known collectively as Starship Planet.
