Steamboat
Steamboat is about a 3.5-hour drive from Denver and is located north of most of Colorado's major ski resorts. As a result, it falls under the radar of many skiers who prefer to visit nearby resorts such as Breckenridge, Vail, or Beaver Creek. This means fewer crowds and more time spent skiing or boarding.
Each year, approximately 26 feet of snow falls, resulting in excellent conditions on the 165 trails. With 18 lifts, including an eight-passenger gondola, uphill capacity is comparable to other major resorts. The resort recently added 355 acres of new terrain to its Pioneer Ridge area. The well-known Hazie's restaurant has been completely renovated, with new infrastructure and seating.
The town of Steamboat Springs is what makes a trip here so special. This small town's authentic cowboy culture and friendly locals make you feel right at home. Strawberry Hot Springs are not far from town. These natural outdoor pools are ideal for days when you want to rest your legs.
