Studio Ghibli

The most famous and well-known animation studio in Asia is Studio Ghibli. Studio Ghibli was established in 1985 and has headquarters in Koganei, Tokyo, Japan. Studio Ghibli is primarily known for its animated feature movies, although Studio Ghibli has also produced a number of short subjects, advertisements, and one television film. Eight of the top 15 highest-grossing anime films in Japan have been their creations.

Four Japan Academy Prizes for Animation of the Year, an Animage Anime Grand Prix, many Academy Award nominations in the United States, and an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film are among many of the honors that Studio Ghibli has received.
