SUSE S.A.
The SUSE operating system is a worldwide open-source software firm headquartered in Germany that creates and sells Linux-based products to commercial clients. It was founded in 1992, making it the pioneering enterprise Linux distributor.
It's the company behind the openSUSE Linux distribution project and the SUSE Linux Enterprise operating system. Its branded "Leap" variation features a direct upgrade path to the enterprise version, making openSUSE Leap essentially a non-commercial version of its enterprise product, while its "Tumbleweed" variant is an upstream distribution for both the "Leap" variation and SUSE Linux Enterprise distribution.
Since 2014, Micro Focus International has been SUSE's parent company. In July of 2018, Micro Focus International stated that beginning in the first quarter of 2019, it would sell the business unit to an EQT Partners affiliate. On March 15, 2019, the acquisition was finalized, and SUSE became an independent company. SUSE Software Solutions Germany GmbH is the company's official name now that it has new management.
