TASIS - The American School in Switzerland
Having a beautiful setting, TASIS - The American School in Switzerland symbolizes itself as the Tower that emphasizes art and history. Both the historic and new, award-winning campus buildings suggest the nobility toward which humans can aspire.
When it comes to its facilities, students are impressed with the colorful combination of ancient facilities and state-of-the-art, eco-friendly new buildings. There are different rooms and forums for students to learn about specific spheres. Besides, by focusing on arts as a way to strive for wisdom, TASIS allows its students to find their own creative voice and nurture their talent. Some extracurricular artistic exhibitions, musical performances, and dramatic productions have taken place as well.
They can also freely choose whatever they like to learn in the robust Fine Arts program. This program consists of two departments—Performing Arts and Visual Arts—and offers dynamic courses in drama, music theater, choir, instrumental ensemble, photography, drawing & painting, ceramics & sculpture, and architecture. The rich and varied curriculum encourages students to find their own voice no matter what the discipline, with more than 20 classes ranging from introductory courses in photography to IB and AP offerings in both the performing and visual arts.
Furthermore, TASIS encourages physical fitness and healthy lifestyles. Varsity sports teams compete throughout Europe, and a variety of other fitness activities are offered to cater to all interests. Each year also brings many opportunities to ski and explore the breathtaking Alps.
