Tatami
The Tatami Restaurant is in Kuwait's "downtown" commercial zone. The design idea was created by combining the "Japanese tatami mats" way of planning with the city's industrial environment. As a result, the 2:1 ratio was preserved as a guiding design idea for the seating spaces, wall cladding, lighting distribution, and circulation. The sushi bar was put on the other side of the facade, and the kitchen was located behind it, in order to maximize the use of the building's main face for restaurant seating while removing any distracting components.
Tatami, a Japanese restaurant tucked away in a skyscraper park just outside of the city center, manages to draw customers despite its location. Sushi, sashimi, tempura, and other inventive Japanese dishes are available on the menu, all of which are presented in an attractive and artistic manner. The ingredients are constantly fresh, and there is a wide variety to choose from. The chef is a young, well-known Kuwaiti woman who manages to take a break from her cooking to personally check on each table. Make a reservation for a slice of the much-desired green tea cheesecake when you arrive.
