Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream
Tatcha makes some of our favorite skincare products in general, so it's no surprise that one of its moisturizers made the cut. The Dewy Skin Cream from the brand "feeds the skin with plumping hydration and antioxidant-packed Japanese purple rice for a dewy, healthy glow." It's thick enough to keep dry patches at bay, but light enough not to leave you feeling greasy.
The stars of this formula are Japanese purple rice, Okinawa algae blend, hyaluronic acid, and botanical extracts. These ingredients work together to protect the skin barrier from pollution and stress, soften and nourish the skin, and aid in moisture retention. We thought the formula was "rich and creamy with a gel-like consistency," which means it'll work to combat dryness without weighing down or making the skin overly oily — ideal for those with combination skin. Sean Garrette, a licensed esthetician and skincare expert based in New York, says he "loves this one." It nourishes the skin and keeps it supple and moisturized."
This purple-hued moisturizer "sinks beautifully into the skin" and "feels refreshing," leaving us with a radiant dolphin-skin finish. The Dewy Skin Cream is a well-balanced option with a light scent that isn't overpowering. Although fragrance isn't always a bad thing, this is scented, so it might not be a good choice for those with sensitive skin. Once again, the price of this moisturizer is troubling.
