Texas Virtual Academy at Hallsville
Texas Virtual Academy at Hallsville (TVAH) is an online public school part of Hallsville Independent School District. It's a free program for students in grades 3-12, offering virtual learning to students nationwide. When students join one of the TXVSN online schools, they become public school students.
TVAH uses a quality curriculum from K12, designed to let students learn in a way that suits them best. This flexibility allows students to choose their path to success. Each online classroom provides engaging lessons that connect with students's interests and abilities. The career and college prep program also helps middle and high school students prepare for life after graduation.
The courses in the program follow state curriculum requirements called the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and align with accessibility standards. The TVAH is authorized by the Texas Education Code (TEC) Chapter 30A and is run by the TEA under the leadership of the education commissioner. Public school districts and charter schools that TEA accredits participate in the program, offering full-time online instruction to eligible public school students across Texas.
Their teachers are here to help parents of students succeed in online learning. They provide instruction and support as their child goes through the curriculum. Communication is open through email, phone calls, online "class connect" sessions, and online and in-person activities. Students will also get textbooks and other hands-on materials delivered to their door! These materials complement the online lessons and vary depending on the grade and course.
