The First Published Alien Abduction Was From the 1800s

Recall the extraterrestrial kidnappings? In the 1960s, they began to gain popularity, and by the 1990s, there were entire groups devoted to extraterrestrial conspiracy ideas and abduction survivors. Nowadays, you hardly ever hear anything about them. Many people have noted that the proliferation of cell phone cameras significantly decreased the frequency of sightings of UFOs and aliens. Additionally, the first push is frequently credited to the popularity of science fiction films, which offered us a visual representation of what an alien or UFO may appear to be. However, that wasn't the true start of things.

The 1961 kidnapping of Betty and Barney Hill is frequently seen as the beginning of the phenomena, however it was merely one of the most well-known ones. One of the earliest reports of alien abductions takes place in California in 1896.

The local paper said that late one night, the former editor of that publication and a companion were riding home in a horse-drawn carriage. Three thin creatures, each 7 feet tall, stopped them. They were covered in something that wasn't hair or feathers and lacked clothing. They have big eyes but a little lips. It does seem a little familar, yes? Although it falls short of the ideal gray alien description made popular in pop culture, it is close. According to the story, they attempted to lift the man but were physically unable to do so. They then reportedly quickly departed in their own craft. Take what you will from that.
