Musician Rene Calvo's Harlem inn has a dark wood decor, dramatic lighting, and soft jazz playing in the background, giving it a 1930s speakeasy ambiance rather than a modern B&B. The light-filled rooms, which have the names of notable members of the Harlem Renaissance such as Chester Himes and Cozy Cole, feature restored tin ceilings, an eccentric mix of secondhand furniture and antiques, as well as functional sinks housed in original antique cabinets. Only two suites are available each level, and each pair shares a bathroom.
