The King's Maker is one of the best BL manhwa (webtoons) that actually live up to the hype. Since his mother was slain in an event, Wolfgang Goldenleonard, the kingdom's fourth prince, has been evading the royal family. He spent a lot of his days on the streets with a group of other orphans while her parting advice, "do not ever covet the king's possessions," rang in his ears. This goes on for a while until one day he is compelled to sacrifice himself to save the lives of others. The enigmatic Shin Soohyuk, a catamite of the King and someone he shouldn't want, intrigues Wolfgang despite the fact that he despises everything about royal life and traditions. They get together in an odd partnership that develops into much more.
The King's Maker is a manhwa that political mystery and intrigue fans cannot afford to miss. The modest acts of disobedience Wolfgang and Shin display throughout, getting steadily stronger, eloquently illustrate the themes of hope, revolt, and sacrifice. Although their love is taking a long time to blossom and is being hampered by external factors, they are attracted to one another without a doubt.
