It contains songs from the film written by Elton John and Tim Rice, and a score composed by Hans Zimmer. The album was released on May 31, 1994, on CD and audio cassette. The soundtrack was recorded in three different countries: the U.S., the U.K., and South Africa. It is the best-selling soundtrack album and it is an animated film in the United States with over 7 million copies sold, with 4,934,000 copies sold in 1994.

One of Disney’s absolute best, The Lion King has been redone countless times. Nothing matches the animated 1994 original. This extraordinary coming of age tale follows young lion Simba, tricked into exile by his jealous uncle Scar, where he grows up in the jungle with new pals Timon (a meerkat) and Pumba (a warthog). But one day, Simba’s destiny comes knocking and he must decide if he’s courageous enough to meet the call. The film promises to bring in wonderful moments for watches. Moreover, it is deserved to be the best movie for family night.
