The Museum of Science
Since its inception in 1830, this Boston museum has captivated both tourists and locals alike. It is 130,000 square feet in size and runs the length of the Charles River, connecting up-and-coming East Cambridge to Boston's West End. The Museum of Science provides nearly 700 engaging exhibits, shows at the Charles Hayden Planetarium and Mugar Omni Theater (New England's only domed IMAX screen), and live presentations. The museum is divided into sections that focus on various aspects of science, such as humans/biology/history, food, electricity, dinosaurs, and so on. This fantastic Boston museum is dedicated to providing an interactive and scientific experience by making science accessible through exhibitions and practical activities.
There is also a fantastic display of engines and railroad locomotives, as well as some mind-boggling examples of past technology and current scientific innovations by Boston researchers. The various exhibits at one of Boston's best museums are sure to delight both children and adults! The Museum of Science offers excellent science overviews on a variety of topics. They especially enjoy the astronomy section, which includes information about traveling to the moon and exploring science through light and color. There's a model area with their solar system and some really cool space shows in the Omni theater.
