The Pierre

Located at Fifth Avenue and 61st Street, this historic five-star hotel is a short distance from Central Park's southeast border. The Pierre is one of the Most Romantic Hotels In NYC. The modest elegance in its 1930s skeleton is difficult to resist, even though it may not have the largest lobby or the most extravagant decorations. White-gloved staff members accompany you on the elevator trip up, pressing the floor button for you so you don't stain your delicate hands before you reach your room to check out that view.

Since it was first decorated in 1930, nothing about it feels particularly fresh or new, but that's part of its appeal. There are 189 rooms overall, 49 of which are suites, all elegantly decorated with cream and gold accents throughout the hallways. The hotel doesn't have a spa, but it does have a 24-hour fitness facility, as well as laundry and vehicle services available whenever needed.
