The University of Western Australia
The Western Australian Parliament established the University of Western Australia (UWA) in 1911, and it began teaching students two years later. It is Australia's sixth-oldest university, and it was Western Australia's only university until Murdoch University was founded in 1973. Because of its age and reputation, UWA is considered as one of the sandstone universities. The oldest institutions in each state are sandstone universities. Among other formal organizations, the university is a member of the Group of Eight and the Matariki Network of Universities.
This university has a reputation for distinction in teaching, learning, and research, and is consistently ranked among the top 100 universities in the world. In order for the community to survive, it is constantly working to provide world-class education. The University of Western Australia's goal is to cultivate "the next generation of global leaders", which they hope to do through hands-on learning and credible research. Undergraduate law degrees are available at the University of Western Australia: Business Law, Law and Society; and postgraduate Degrees: Master of Laws, Master of International Law, Master of Taxation Law, etc.
