The Zabur (Psalms)
The word "Zabur" is the Arabic word for "Psalms," and it is mentioned in the Qur'an as one of the books revealed by God to his prophets. The exact nature of the Zabur is not known, and it is not clear whether it is a separate book or whether it is simply another name for the Psalms of David. Some scholars believe that the Zabur may have been a collection of poems or songs that were used in worship by the Israelites.
The Zabur is considered one of the most sacred texts of Islam, alongside the Torah, Injeel (Gospel), and Quran. Muslims honor the Zabur as a holy book given to Prophet David to guide his people and convey God's wisdom.
The Zabur, or Psalms, contain diverse themes, including praise for God's greatness, expressions of faith, prayers for help in times of trouble, and reflections on the human condition. While the Quran is regarded as the most complete and accurate revelation superseding previous scriptures, the Zabur is respected as a significant part of the divine messages sent to prophets.
Across these faiths, the Zabur is revered for its spiritual and moral guidance, offering comfort, inspiration, and a way to connect with the divine. Its verses are cherished for their beauty, depth, and ability to resonate with the human experience, serving as a source of solace and inspiration for millions of believers worldwide.
