"Tick, Tick... Boom!" follows the story of Jon, an aspiring composer and writer (based on the real-life Jonathan Larson), as he navigates the challenges and uncertainties of pursuing his dreams in the vibrant but very competitive world of New York City.
Set in the 1990s, Jon is on the cusp of turning 30, and his frustration with the lack of success in his career begins to grow. He struggles to balance his artistic ambitions with the pressures of adult life, growing more impatient as his friends move forward in their careers and personal lives. When the deadline for his new musical project approaches, Jon grapples with self-doubt and fears of failure, starting to question whether his dreams of making it big in the theater industry are realistic.
