TMON (티몬)
The first company in South Korea to engage in social commerce is called TMON. The term "Ticket Monster" was used initially, however, in 2017, the name was changed to TMON.
Daniel Hyunsung Shin, who received his degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and worked at McKinsey & Company, along with his undergraduate friend and KAIST graduate, established TMON.
In 2014, mobile devices were used for the completion of seventy percent of TMON's transactions, and the company's customer base continued to grow across a variety of age groups. Through its connections with roughly 15,000 different merchants, the company is able to provide customers with access to over 47,000 different stock-keeping units (SKUs). The business focuses its operations on the Goods, Local, and Travel sectors.
