Trump is the only federal officeholder in American history to have been impeached twice

On September 24, 2019, Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the US House of Representatives, announced the start of an investigation in a televised statement. This signaled the start of the first impeachment probe of Donald Trump. Donald Trump, the 45th president of the United States, has been officially impeached. Hunter Biden, the son of former vice president and 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden, was the subject of a lengthy inquiry by the Ukrainian government after repeated requests from President Trump and his personal attorney Rudy Giuliani. Trump withheld some military assistance from Ukraine in July, but he left this withholding out in September. In February 2020, the Senate cleared him of both counts.

On January 13, 2021, the House of Representatives impeached Donald Trump, the 45th president of the United States, a second time. The article of impeachment for inciting sedition was approved by the House of Representatives. He was the first American president to face two impeachments (as well as the first person to hold a federal position). Following his attempt to void the outcome of the 2020 presidential election, he was impeached. The Trump-Raffensperger controversy and his instigating rioting at the Capitol a week ago are mentioned in the articles of impeachment.
