Uniprix
Uniprix is a drugstore business in Québec, Canada. It was formed in 1977 and is headquartered in Saint-Leonard, Quebec, Montréal. A fun fact is that Uniprix used to be the name for a tennis facility in Montreal (formerly known as DuMaurier Stadium). Later on, Uniprix Pharmacies obtained the naming rights.
Uniprix, Clinique Santé, Unipharm, and Uniclinic are the four names the company operates. Uniprix is the second-largest drugstore chain in Quebec (behind Jean Coutu). It also has a strictly exclusive relationship with the Pharmasave business in English regions.
The majority of Uniprix goods are labeled as Option+. According to a press release issued on April 12, 2017, McKesson Canada (a unit of the United States-based McKesson Corporation, which currently owns 285 Proxim pharmacies) has signed an agreement to purchase the 330 pharmacies owned by Groupe Uniprix. Due to the additional locations from Uniprix, McKesson Canada officially surpassed L'équipe Jean Coutu (which had 382 pharmacies) to become the largest pharmacy business in Quebec.
