By annual revenue, Universal Pictures is considered the largest film production and distribution company on the planet. Universal Pictures was established in 1912, making it the fourth and oldest film studio in the world and United States, respectively. Currently, the Universal Pictures studio is a wholly-owned subsidiary of NBCUniversal, which is controlled entirely by Comcast.

Throughout its century-long existence, Universal Pictures has produced 254 films in total. Among those productions are films like Jaws, Psycho, Halloween, and Back to the Future, as well as other box office hits and culturally recognized classics from practically every genre. Illumination, Dreamworks Animation, and Working Title Films are some of the most well-known subsidiary studios of Universal Pictures.
