Universal Standard

Universal Standard started with Polina & Alex, but they want to do it for all of us. They lived in a world in which access was limited. They felt unfair because some women did not buy the clothes that fit their size. If 67% of women in the U.S. wear a size 14 or above, why were their options so dismal? It was clear that all women were not given the same style, quality, or even respect.

Universal Standard wanted a size 40 to shop in the same way as a size 00 – using style as women's only filter, and they wanted to be the ones to make that happen. Their goals were lofty; some may say idealistic, some may even say impossible, but they had to disagree. When they finally decided to take the plunge, they put "Universal Standard" on a whiteboard and have defined that ever since.

Universal Standard denim uses cotton fabric with added polyester and elastane for stretch, so they are not only soft but comfy to wear all day. A GH Textiles Product Analyst raves that the brand's Seine skinny jeans are her favorite because "they are so flattering, hugging my curves in all the right places." Denim is available in sizes 00-40, making Universal Standard one of the most size-inclusive brands featured.
