Uppsala

Since the 12th century, Uppsala, which is 44 miles (70 kilometers) north of Stockholm, has been Sweden's religious hub. Besides that, Uppsala Cathedral is Scandinavia's largest cathedral. Uppsala University, which was founded in 1477 and is one of the oldest colleges in Scandinavia, plays an important role in the community.

The city is divided by the Fyris River, with the medieval part located west of the river. The church, as well as Uppsala Castle, dominates the skyline. The eighteenth-century botanist Carl Linnaeus lived in Uppsala, so you should check out the botanical garden next to the castle.
