Urasawa Tasting Menu
Chef Hiroyuki Urasawa's Michelin-starred restaurant Urasawa has always been known for its professionally prepared sushi dishes. Hiroyuki Urasawa opened his restaurant in 2003 when the previous owner moved to New York to open Masa (another luxurious restaurant). Restaurants have a “ten-second rule” that you must eat all the sushi in 10 seconds. According to Jonathan Gold, restaurant critic for the Los Angeles Times, you won't find a better reminiscence of Japan in the US.
In this restaurant, only 10 people are served at a time. The 30-course omakase tasting menu of the restaurant costs each person $1,111 USD to enjoy a luxurious meal. They are prepared in a creative way with many premium ingredients such as thinly sliced beef with foie gras, lobster, and scallops.
Enjoying the meal in Urasawa restaurant, you can see the Chef wearing blank kimono, standing in front of the wood bar, and making exquisite sushi. Some specialties you should try when coming to the restaurant are a wagyu beef tartare mixing with caviar and pickled radish, seared tuna belly wrapped around monkfish liver, black sesame dumpling stuffed with uni and gold leaf and so on.
According to feedback from customers, every dish is incredibly fresh, flavored, and delicious. Wasabi and ginger served with the food are prepared from the fresh roots in front of your eyes.
