U.S. Bancorp

U.S. Bancorp, sometimes known as us Bancorp, is a Delaware-incorporated American bank holding company with its headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is U.S.'s parent corporation. The fifth-largest banking organization in the US is called Bank National Association. The business offers financial services to individuals, businesses, governments, and other financial institutions, including banking, investing, mortgage, trust, and payment products. It is mostly found in the Western and Midwestern regions of the United States and has 3,106 branches and 4,842 automated teller machines. The Financial Stability Board classifies it as a systemically important bank, and it is placed 117th on the Fortune 500.

After the National Bank Act was passed in 1863, the second-oldest continuous national charter, or Charter #24, was awarded to U.S. Bancorp. As banks were purchased or dissolved, earlier charters expired, raising the U.S. Charter number of the bank went from 24 to 2. Wells Fargo, which acquired it through its merger with Wachovia, currently holds the oldest national charter, which was originally given to the First National Bank of Philadelphia.
