Utrecht Art, a Brooklyn-based art supply company, was started in the 1940s by two brothers and is best known for its acrylic gesso. The brothers went on to develop their own range of acrylic, oil, and watercolor paints. The company grew until it had 45 retail locations across the United States. In 2013, Blick bought the firm. It's easy to detect the parallels between the Utrecht Art website and the Blick website when you visit the Utrecht Art website. Blick, on the other hand, chose to keep the Utrecht site under its own name, which had become well-known among artists.

Many of the same features as Blick are available on the site, such as a huge range of art materials, free delivery on purchases over $45, and regular promotions. The site sells a variety of art supplies from other manufacturers, but there still has a section dedicated solely to the Utrecht Art brand.
