Uttarkashi
In Hindu mythology, the small town of Uttarkashi in the Indian state of Uttarakhand is regarded as one of the holiest cities. The town as a whole is brimming with holy history, amazing natural beauty, and a tranquil atmosphere. It also goes by the name DevBhumi, and it is regarded as the entry point to the Yamunotri and Gangotri pilgrimages. It is a favorite location for ardent trekkers and environment lovers alike since it contains some of the most stunning natural panoramas and difficult trekking paths. It resembles heaven on Earth because of the snow-covered slopes, picturesque valleys, and lush alpine forests.
The Gangotri Temple, which has a Shiva lingam submerged in water, is also located there. Other picturesque areas nearby are Nachiketa Tal, Gaumukh Glacier, and Dayara Bugyal, all of which are a true treat for the eyes and soul. As it is dotted with some of the best hilly terrains and picturesque trails, Uttarkashi is a veritable heaven for those who enjoy trekking. For an exhilarating experience, you may also attempt mountain biking and mountaineering nearby. Summer(March-June) is the best time to visit this destination as the temperature rises to around 30 degrees Celsius maximum.
