Vivo

Vivo is a Chinese multinational smartphone maker located in Dongguan, Guangdong Province, China. Vivo, which was founded in 1995, entered the telecommunications and client industries with telephone line phones and wireless phones. Vivo began selling smartphones in 2011.

As of 2014, Vivo released and marketed its smartphones under the Vivo brand, ranking as the fifth most popular smartphone brand in China and the tenth most popular smartphone brand worldwide.

Vivo sold out 25 million devices in mainland China in 2014, and the company expects to sell 45 million units internationally in 2015, with a typical retail price of $300. Sixty million units may be produced annually. Vivo is now one of China's top five most lucrative smartphone brands.

Vivo is now used by 20,000 operators, and 3,000 engineers work in four R&D facilities in Dongguan, Shenzhen, Nanjing, and Chongqing. Vivo has built a comprehensive intellectual property strategy, from hardware design and manufacturing to software package creation (Android-based Funtouch OS).
