Warren Buffet was born on August 30, 1930 in Nebraska, United States of America. During his younger years, I was interested in investment and business. Warren Edward Buffet took over as chairman and major shareholder of Berkshire Hathaway in 1970. He is the founder of The Giving Vow, an initiative in which billionaires pledge to donate half or almost half of their wealth to charity.

Buffett made a smart gamble on Activision Blizzard last October, investing $1.1 billion in the video game company's stock just three months before Microsoft agreed to buy it for $69 billion. Occidental Petroleum stock was purchased for $7 billion by Berkshire Hathaway this year, despite rising oil prices. He was the driving force behind Berkshire Hathaway's $11.6 billion cash purchase of insurer Alleghany in March. Warren Buffet was named the top money manager of the twentieth century in a survey conducted by the Carson Group in 1999.
