Warsaw Montessori Family
The Warsaw Montessori School operates on five campuses, four in the center of Warsaw and one in Izabelin. They call themselves the "Warsaw Montessori Family." The school covers bilingual Montessori education for elementary and high school stages of child development. It has been running since 2002 and is applying for accreditation to introduce the IB DP program.
Montessori is about learning through all five senses, not just listening, watching, or reading. In Montessori classes, kids learn at their own pace and choose activities from many options. Learning becomes an exciting discovery process, leading to focus, motivation, self-discipline, and a love for learning. The school has a highly qualified international teaching staff, and students earn diplomas from London, Dublin, and the USA.
Established in 1999, the school offers programs for toddlers (18 to 36 months), preschoolers (2.5 to 5 years), primary students (6 to 12 years), and secondary students (13 years and older). Campuses are located on Szwoleżerów Street, next to Łazienki Park, and in Izabelin, close to the Kampinos National Park. Instruction is bilingual at all levels, in Polish and English. The school follows the Montessori approach, based on Dr. Maria Montessori's teachings.
Children learn independently under the guidance of a teacher, at their own pace, in well-organized multi-age classrooms. They also participate in taking care of the school, playgrounds, sports facilities, gardens, and an animal pen. The school's primary goals are to develop children’s focus, self-reliance, self-confidence, respect for others and their work, and helpfulness. The program includes various extracurricular activities like French-language classes, yoga, soccer, music and rhythm, ballet, theatre, and arts.
