Waseda Shibuya Senior High School
Waseda Shibuya Senior High School in Singapore (WSS) started in 1991 on Singapore's west coast. It was made for Japanese students living in Singapore and nearby places who needed a Japanese-style education.
WSS works with Waseda University to prepare students for a future in Asia. They follow Japan's education rules but also focus on what students learn by living in another country. This helps them become global citizens who understand different cultures.
Students learn in small groups based on how well they know the subjects. From the second year on, they chose different courses. Some focus on science and math, while others pick a liberal arts program. As they go on, they get to choose more subjects.
Waseda Shibuya Senior High School has dorms for students from other Japanese schools nearby. These dorms have Japanese adults in charge but give students a lot of freedom. There are tutors to help with school and personal stuff. The school tries to help students feel safe and supported while they study away from home.
WSS wants to give students a good Japanese education and help them become global citizens, all while respecting each student's unique journey. This is truly one of the best boarding schools in Singapore.
