Wat Lao Buddha Phothisaram
Amidst the greens along Georgia's Highway 675 (a short distance from Atlanta's airport), Wat Lao Buddha Phothisaram might go unnoticed at first glance, shielded partially by trees throughout the year. Yet, this Laotian Buddhist temple, decorated with golden trimmings, holds significance as a place of spiritual solace and reverence!
Guided by a group of Laotian elders and supported by the local community, the temple's major development culminated in 2006. Wat Lao Buddha Phothisaram captivates with its ornate aesthetics, boasting two grand statues of three-headed dragons that seem to guard the primary altar. The vivid red and gold embellishments add to its allure, while numerous golden Buddha statues, some still in the process of creation, grace the premises. The essential elements of a traditional temple - monastic residence, service hall, and the principal Buddha Simma - are all featured in the design.
The temple regularly extends its warm welcome and publicizes its events to all prospective visitors. Wat Lao also appreciates all donations as a token of support.
