Wat Suan Mokkh retreat
Every month on the first, 10-day silent retreats are held at Wat Suan Mokkh. Only in-person registration is permitted, and it only takes place on the final day of the month before to the retreat. Because this is a serious meditation retreat, you must be present throughout. You're allowed to stop by the main monastery to practice whenever you like if you just want to tinker. Phones and all other electronics will be kept in a safe throughout the retreat, so only come if you are genuinely committed to escaping from reality. For the duration of the retreat, quiet is needed.
In 1989, the Suan Mokkh International Dharma Hermitage was established. If you're looking for a pleasant, carefree, and peaceful holiday, this place is not for you. It draws tourists who are looking for a deeper significance in their life. Long meditations are alternated with lectures on Buddhism from monks and teachers, yoga and tai chi, visits to hot springs, and household duties, all while the area is covered in lush vegetation. You must take part in all of the events listed on the daily schedule, which is printed here at the bottom of the page. Though there are just two vegetarian meals per day, the portions are substantial and sufficient.
Registration is completely unbelievable and costs only 2000 Baht, or USD 58.61. It includes all costs. Only a straw mat, wooden pillow, and light blanket will be provided for your bed, which will be a concrete slab. This meditation retreat is regarded as being more suited for beginners. Even though it is regarded as being simpler than other Vipassana Meditation retreats, many people also view it as a life-changing event.
