Watkins Glen State Park, New York
Watkins Glen State Park is the most famous park in the Finger Lakes region of New York State, USA. The park locates outside the boundaries of the village of Watkins Glen in Schuyler County, located at the southern end of Lake Seneca.
Nature has favored this place with a series of waterfalls and canyons. The main attraction of the park is 19 waterfalls. This place has many activities such as hiking, fishing, camping, hunting, and bird watching. Three trails provide access to an 800-mile trail system that runs throughout New York state. Visitors must follow the Gorge trail that winds through 19 spectacular waterfalls to get inside. The entrance is lined with 180 famous stone steps, known as Jacob's Stairs.
There is an interesting fact that few people know except the indigenous inhabitants. That is annual in the spring, always appears a large-scale migration of schools of rainbow trout. They wade hundreds of kilometers upstream to begin their breeding season.
