Wellness Natural Pet Food, Holistic Select Natural Pet Food, Eagle Pack Natural Pet Food, and Old Mother Hubbard Natural Dog Snacks were bought by Berwind Corporation and combined to establish WellPet LLC. WellPet is based in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, just outside of Boston. 'Your pet's welfare is at the core of all we do, which is why we do everything it takes to develop the best natural products for the pets who rely on us,' says WellPet's current motto.

WellPet is the result of the merger of two natural pet food specialty companies. In January 2016, the firm expanded again with the acquisition of Sojo's, a US-based manufacturer of raw pet food and gourmet treats. Sojos became well-known in the rapidly expanding field of raw nutrition for pets, notably freeze-dried raw pet food.

In January 2009, WellPet was founded by the combination of two old-guard pet food companies: Old Mother Hubbard (which dates back to 1926 in Gloucester, Massachusetts) and Eagle Pack Pet Foods (which dates back to 1970). Both firms were pioneers in the field of natural and holistic pet food.

Sojos, Wellness Natural Pet Food, Holistic Select, Old Mother Hubbard Natural Dog Snacks, and Eagle Pack Natural Pet Food are all part of the WellPet family.
