West Highland Way

The West Highland Way Hike in Scotland is one of the world's most famous long-distance hikes. The path is 96 miles (154 kilometers) long, stretching from Milngavie near Glasgow to Fort William in the heart of the Highlands. The West Highland Way, Scotland's first long distance hiking path, was established in 1980 and is now a member of the International Appalachian Trail. People usually begin the path in Glasgow and trek north to Fort William since the southern portions are simpler and will help prepare you for the more tough terrain in the northern sections.
