Where to stay
One of the most important things to know before traveling to the Solomon Islands is where to stay. A small percentage of those islands are actually inhabited, but there are still several choices for accommodation when planning your visit to the Solomon Islands. Guadalcanal Island is the largest of the Solomon Islands and attracts the majority of tourists. Honiara, the capital of the Solomon Islands, is located on the island of Guadalcanal. The majority of modern tourist accommodations are within the city limits.
Gizo, on Gizo Island, and Munda, on New Georgia Island, are two other destinations with excellent small resorts. Furthermore, many of the islands offer cultural stays. These are indigenous accommodations in small, often remote villages. In such cases, you will frequently be the only visitor to the village and will be made to feel as if you belong there. Furthermore, eco-resorts have become a popular lodging option, and the islands are home to some of the best in the Pacific. Eco-friendly beach bungalows are nestled among coconut palms, with views of tranquil lagoons and your own sandy beach.
