Whiskey Run Creek Vineyard & Winery
Under the guidance and direction of Robert (Bob) Curttright, Whiskey Run Creek Vineyard & Winery opened in the fall of 2002. When Bob was looking for the perfect place to open a winery, he came across a piece of land on the western outskirts of Brownville that had once been home to one of Nebraska's first breweries and decided it was the perfect spot.
The south cave, which was built in 1866 to house beer barrels, has been restored. Another of the original brewery caves from the 1800s has been discovered by geological survey, but we have yet to explore it. Given its location, the barn that spans Whiskey Run Creek adds to the winery's rustic charm.
Because it is over 100 years old, the barn that spans Whiskey Run Creek adds to the winery's rustic charm. The barn wasn't always where it is now; it was moved from a farmstead south of Auburn (NE) to its current location across the creek. See some of the renovation and construction history in the photo galleries!
