Under the guidance and direction of Robert (Bob) Curttright, Whiskey Run Creek Vineyard & Winery opened in the fall of 2002. When Bob was looking for the perfect place to open a winery, he came across a piece of land on the western outskirts of Brownville that had once been home to one of Nebraska's first breweries and decided it was the perfect spot.

The south cave, which was built in 1866 to house beer barrels, has been restored. Another of the original brewery caves from the 1800s has been discovered by geological survey, but we have yet to explore it. The Red Path Gallery & Tasting Room is located on Seward's Historic Downtown Square. Built as a bank in 1886, the space was converted into Nebraska's oldest law firm in 1951. Original architectural features were discovered through a labor of love, and the historic building was renovated and transformed into an art gallery and wine tasting room.

Over twenty Nebraska artists exhibit their original artwork in this historic structure today. The wine is bottled at a Nebraska winery, and the tasting room features wine labels designed by Jeanne K. Hain Wiemer, a Nebraska artist who was the gallery's original founder and director from August 2013 to June 2018.
