Zandra Rhodes, born in Croydon to an English father and a Malaysian mother, is one of Britain's top style pioneers. Following her studies at the Royal College of Art, she launched her own label in 1969 and quickly became known for her vibrant and rich designs. Her creations have been worn by some of the world's most famous women, including Diana, Princess of Wales, Madonna, and Kylie Minogue. Rhodes has also designed ensembles for the Royal Opera House and over 100 outfits for Elton John's visit in 1974.
