During World War I, the Austro-Hungarian Navy rented the Tihany, a steamer. The steamship's name is really the same as a town in Hungary. The ship plied the eastern Adriatic coast and had only been in service for ten years when it sank on the island of Unije on the islet of kolji. Attempts to resurrect it were similarly unsuccessful.

It is now one of the best diving sites in Montenegro. Exploring something with such a long history is always fascinating. Find the shipwreck by diving in. It's fully rusted, and you can even dive into the steamship's innards to see what's left of it. It has also attracted a large number of marine species, which have made this wreck their home. Apart from the little fishes that may be found circling the wreck, you'll also come across lobsters, sheepshead fish, and damselfish, among other things. The ruin is coated with algae, but this is what brings the wreck's beauty to life.

Because the Tihany shipwreck is not marked, a reference line must be established that will be utilized for both descending and rising. The visibility is excellent and the sea current is mild during this dive. To extend your bottom time, go wreck diving just above the shipwreck deck, which is at a depth of 35 meters. Penetration of the wreck is feasible, but only for trained Wreck Speciality divers. The maximum dive time is 15 minutes, and the absolute dive time is 35 minutes, including the safety stop.

It is also one of the best diving sites in Montenegro. This location, located on the Lustica Peninsula, is ideal for Montenegrin scuba and snorkeling sports. It is one of the Peninsula's largest caves and a wonder of breathtaking natural beauty. You might be wondering why it's called the Blue Cave. When the sun's rays reach the cave, the light bounces off the water's surface, giving the cave a dreamy blue colour.

The Blue Cave in Montenegro is a renowned tourist destination. This is a big cave with an entrance located on the water's surface. The cave's water appears to be a magnificent blue color due to the natural light. Divers can witness a variety of fish, moray eels, octopus, and other creatures while diving in Blue Cave. Underwater lights are not required in the cave of light because to the natural light, although they are accessible upon request. The dive destination "Blue Cave" is a stunning natural formation where our diving club may take you on exciting dives.

This cave has two openings, one of which is designed specifically for boats. The water is warm, making for an excellent diving experience. This is another another natural wonder found in Mala Gora's cove. It's a fascinating diving spot in Poseidon City, with caves and tunnels that resemble a maze. At this diving spot, there are numerous caverns, each with a different depth and surrounded by reefs. The caves here, too, reflect natural light, but as you travel deeper, you'll need to bring a torch because it gets darker.

Poseidon City is a fascinating and complicated system of underwater tunnels with depths ranging from 2 to 17 meters (6 to 55 feet). It ranks as one of the best diving sites in Montenegro. Divers will observe a cliff landscape with a drop down of up to 46m/150ft from which various holes protrude, providing a natural sanctuary for countless horn lobsters, schools of sarka, and an old anchor lower down.

The vegetation and fauna of this diving location will astound you, and it will be very peaceful as you move through the caverns' large and little holes. As you travel through the caverns and tunnels, you'll see lobsters, shrimp, crabs, and other little and large marine species. This dive will be an unforgettable trip filled with thrills and excitement.

Location: Poseidon City, Montenegro

Budva is the location of this one. It was an Italian freight ship that sank roughly 70 years ago while being utilized by the Italian Navy during World War II. Orest, an ancient Italian hero, was given the name. While the ship's cargo was completely lost when it sank, the majority of the ship's pieces are still visible. The ruins of the ship, which burst as it sank, are scattered throughout the ocean bed below. The dive is deep, but the ocean is quiet, so it's a fantastic dive for discovering the cargo ship's ruins. There is also an abundance of marine life that will astound you.

The WWII shipwreck Oreste is located in the Montenegrin municipality of Budva. The wreck is roughly 2.5 kilometers from Budva, between Jaz Beach and Trsteno Beach. Budva's economy is primarily driven by tourism. It is the most popular tourist resort in Montenegro and a major tourist destination on the eastern Adriatic.

It's noted for its sandy beaches and well-preserved medieval walled city. Budva is one of the oldest communities on the Adriatic coast, dating back 2500 years. One of the three longest beaches on the Montenegrin coast is Beach Jaz. Many tourists from Budva and Boka Bay flock to the sandy beach, which is surrounded by unspoilt environment.

Reef Galiola is a strange, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. It is one of the best diving sites in Montenegro. It's a reef in the shape of a pyramid, as the name suggests. It has two vertical tunnels interwoven into it, and the sun's rays tint the entire atmosphere around the reef blue. It's almost surreal, except that it's true. What else may add to the intrigue? There's also a World War I-era underwater mine. There is also a wealth of aquatic life in this area, with various fish, eels, and other creatures. This dive is one of a kind and something you should do while you're there.

The fabled Galiola, a sea-surrounded rock, stretches east-west. It is approximately 150 meters long but only 50 meters wide. A lighthouse was built in the middle of the rock to warn seafarers of its presence. You anchor at a depth of 12 meters around 100 meters from the coast, then dive along the anchor rope to the 15-meter edge of the wall. The greatest diving depth is around 40 meters. Congers, scorpion fish, bigger amberjack shoals, uncountable shoals of damsel fish, white sea breams, sardins, salemas, gilthead sea breams, and various sea slug species can all be spotted. Stony corals, bryozoans, and sponges have colonized the holes and fissures.

Island Mamula, also known as Lastavica (The Swallow), is a 200-meter-wide uninhabited little islet at the mouth of Boka Kotorska Bay (3.4 km from Herceg Novi). This island is famed for its fort, but the dive is very interesting because of it. Fort Mamula, which is located at the mouth of the Boka Kotorska Bay, has witnessed numerous military operations over the years. The fort Mamula was both a defensive structure and a prison that guarded the entrance to Boka Bay. Tourists who come to see the fort are often unaware of how intriguing a dive may be.

The island was known as Rondina during the Venetian Republic's control, but it was renamed after the Austrian general Lazar Mamula, who built fortifications on the island in the mid-nineteenth century. There was a jail on the island during WWII, and guests may observe a commemorative inscription that describes the time period. It is a favored summer escape for many locals as well as tourists from overseas, as it is covered in low vegetation and has a beach and a dock on its northern side.

Aside from the prison, there is, of course, a beach, which leads us to the subject of diving. For starters, you might see a rich trove of marine life, including corals that attract octopus, goldfish, and hermit crabs, among other creatures. The interesting part of the dive is that you will see cannonballs and various anchors that are historically significant when diving. Every time you dive on this island, you will discover something new. Because of its history, the dive site "Mamula" is the most popular in Montenegro.

Island Mamula is considered one of the best diving sites in Montenegro. Diving at Mamula has military as well as historical significance. Cannonballs, a variety of anchors, and residents of the Adriatic's underwater environment such as octopus, lobsters, hermit crabs, and others can be seen during the dive at Mamula. Divers can enjoy a sightseeing tour of Mamula after their dive near the island.

Location: near Herceg Novi, Montenegro

This is yet another disaster, although a prominent one. During World War I, it belonged to the French navy. It sank after being unable to battle the severe gusts and colliding with a mine. The wreck was partially destroyed during the construction of the new port, leaving only three parts visible, including the crew quarters.

Another intriguing fact is that while the ship sank, roughly 30 sailors died on board, but their bodies were given a proper burial by French embassy officials years later, when the port was being restored. Because there is still some unexploded munitions laying around, diving here is a little risky, thus divers are advised to exercise caution.

You may access to the diving site by boat. 10 meters is the average depth. Wrecks of Dagues has an abundance of marine biology. Divers can see a variety of colorful fish and rich foliage when diving. It's an ideal location for underwater photographers. Because of the shallow depths, this location is suitable for diver training at all levels. Children's diving is supported by easy access, biology, and environment.
