  2. The Trattoria Il Mulino in Nashville is located in the opulent downtown Hilton. The restaurant is wide and appealing, with the area divided into a cluster of tiny rooms to create an intimate atmosphere. Surprisingly, the environment is mostly determined by your personal preferences. For romantic encounters, there are booths, and for groups, there are semi-private rooms. The restaurant boasts a better-than-average wine list, as evidenced by an imposing wall of wine at the middle. The clean oak tables and stone floor placed customers at ease.

There is something on the menu for everyone. Appetizers include burrata and salumi, as well as ricotta meatballs in tomato sauce. The octopus beginning was delicate and well cooked, served with fingerling potatoes and jewel box tomatoes in a lemon butter sauce. On the more rustic end of the spectrum, there's even a pizza menu (something you won't find at the original New York store).

The restaurant has received a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, and the wine list includes 200 options and a dedicated sommelier. The Old and New Worlds, notably Italy and California, are well represented in the entries. Some of the markups are high, but you're likely to discover something you like sooner or later, much like the meal menu. Starting with the greeting at the entrance, the service is very pleasant. The waitresses are kind, approachable, and willing to assist.

  8. On Thursday, December 8, 2016, Nicky's Coal Fired, an Italian-inspired restaurant, debuted in The Nations. Tony and Caroline Galzin, the husband and wife team of Fifty First Kitchen & Bar, have come up with a new concept. The Stocking 51 Building, which once housed the Belle Meade Hosiery Mill, is now home to Nicky's. The building's industrial characteristics, such as textured brick walls, plate-glass steel windows, and raw timbers, have been preserved and incorporated into the space. There is seating for about 100 people, including an outside terrace.

Nicky's is a hands-on establishment, with all charcuterie, pasta, bitters, infusions, and shrubs created in-house. While coal-fired pizza is unquestionably popular, dishes such as spicy Gulf shrimp spaghetti, gnocchi with beef shank sugo, and cavatelli bolognese are absolute standouts. You should finish your dinner with one of Nicky's handcrafted gelatos or sorbets. A temporary plant-based cuisine showcasing BeHive products is also available.

Moto is the Gulch's newest restaurant on McGavock Street. With this stunning new Italian restaurant in Nashville, the MStreet crew has done it again. In case you forgot, MStreet is also responsible for Virago, Whiskey Kitchen, Kayne Prime, Tavern, and, most recently, Saint Anejo. Moto's Italian food is a one-of-a-kind addition to the street's Asian, Mexican, and American offerings.

When you stroll through Moto, you'll be shocked at how large the area between Virago and Saint Anejo may be. MStreet's trademark wraparound booths flank the walls, making you feel like you're the only one in the restaurant. There are also high tables in front of the kitchen and low tables in the back. The bar is huge and connects the front and rear of the restaurant beautifully. The “chef’s room” will be available for parties up to 14, and a separate room in the back of the restaurant will be available for parties up to 36 people.
