  1. Burnout 3: Takedown is the third installment in the Burnout series, developed by Criterion and released in September 2004 by Electronic Arts. The arcade-style gameplay in the racing video game emphasizes dangerous fast-paced driving. Players can choose between "Single Race Mode", which pits them against five AI opponents in a single or multiple lap circuit race through the city streets and carriageways, and "Road Rage Mode", which requires you to complete a certain number of "Takedowns" within a set time limit or before the vehicle is totaled.

You could also play the "World Tour mode", which combines Single Races, Road Rage, Crash Mode, and several other race variants in 173 events spread across ten locations in the United States, Europe, and Asia. Burnout 3: Takedown was released to critical acclaim and quickly became one of the highest-rated racing video games of all time, and is widely regarded as one of the greatest video games of all time.

  3. Forza Motorsport 7 was developed by Turn 10 Studios and published by Microsoft Studios for Windows 10 and the Xbox One in 2017. It’s the tenth installment in the Forza series and features over 700 cars and more than 200 different configurations to race on across 32 locations. Both Single-player and multiplayer modes are available, and the game runs at 4K resolution at 60 frames per second.

Forza Motorsport 7 received positive reviews upon release and was nominated for several industry awards, including "Best Racing Game" and "Best Microsoft Game". Due to licensing issues between Toyota and most non-Japanese video game developers that began in 2017, the game does not include any Toyota or Lexus production road vehicles. Only the company's chosen race and pre-customized vehicles are featured, including the Camry's NASCAR configurations, Eagle MkIII, Arctic Trucks Hilux AT38, Toyota T100 SR5 Trophy Trucks, and the Subaru BRZ, with Land Cruiser Prado AT37 Arctic Trucks featured via DLC. Volkswagen, on the other hand, returns after being absent in Horizon 3, with some cars carried over from Horizon 2 and Motorsport 6, as well as some new additions.

  4. Playground Games created Forza Horizon 4 and Microsoft Studios published it for the Xbox One and Microsoft Windows. Horizon 4 is set in a fictionalized representation of parts of the United Kingdom. It is the fourth title in the Forza Horizon series and the eleventh in the Forza series. Forza Horizon 4 is a racing video game set in a fictionalised Great Britain, with regions such as condensed representations of Edinburgh, the Scottish Highlands, the Lake District (including Derwentwater), Ambleside, and the Cotswolds (including Broadway), Bamburgh, among others.

In contrast to its predecessors' AI-driven 'drivatars,' the game takes place in a synchronised shared world, with each server supporting up to 72 players. The game can also be played offline. Players can freely explore its open-world environment by driving over 670 licensed cars, and they can create their own routes by using the game's "route creator" feature. You'll also be able to purchase in-game houses, which unlock items such as cars and gameplay perks. Forza Horizon 4 received universal praise for its Xbox One version and positive feedback for its PC version. It received the "Best Use of Game Engine" award at the 2019 Develop: Star Awards.

  5. Polyphony Digital created Gran Turismo 2 and Sony Computer Entertainment released it in 1999. Gran Turismo 2 builds on the success of its predecessor by allowing players to compete against the computer across various race tracks in either Arcade Mode or Simulation Mode. Arcade mode allows players to use any vehicle they want and includes damage. To unlock new courses in simulation mode, players must earn "driver's licenses", pay for cars, and win trophies.

The gameplay, physics, and graphics are all very similar to Gran Turismo: the only real noticeable difference in vehicle dynamics was the brakes, which became much less likely to lock up and cause the vehicle to oversteer. The most significant changes are the vastly increased number of cars, tracks, and races in simulation mode. Other differences include the player's ability to race events separately if they do not wish to compete in the entire tournament. The player can no longer "qualify" for every race entered. The game includes nearly 650 cars and 27 racing tracks, including rally-style tracks if that's your thing. GT2 was well received by critics and sold over 3.96 million copies in North America and 3.68 million in Europe by April 2008, becoming one of Sony’s “Greatest Hits games”.
