  1. Schlitterbahn Galveston Island Waterpark is the newest member of the Schlitterbahn waterpark family, with 26 acres of thrilling water rides. The park is divided into three sections that are linked by a mile-long river; one section has a wave pool and the world's tallest water coaster, another has raft rides and a children's play area, and the third has a variety of high-speed waterslides. Guests are welcome to bring their own food into the park, but they can also use the swim-up bar and the numerous food and beverage outlets on the property.

Although a new ride at a Chicago waterpark recently surpassed Schlitterbahn Galveston as the world's tallest water coaster, Schlitterbahn Galveston was once home to the world's tallest water coaster (and still comes within a few feet of first place). The aptly named "MASSIV" towers nearly 82 feet above the ground and takes riders on a thrilling ride through ups and downs, twists and turns, and a scream-inducing triple drop finale. Lazy rivers run through the park's three sections, so you don't have to leave the water very often. Relax in the heated pool (with a swim-up bar!), ride the tides in the wave pool, and get your adrenaline pumping on a dozen fast and exciting slides.
