Typhoon Texas Houston

Typhoon Texas, which first opened to the public in 2016, is one of the state's newest waterparks. It's also one of the largest, spanning 25 acres and featuring 30 waterslides, a massive wave pool, a lazy river, and a four-story children's play structure. There are plenty of thrilling slides to keep your adrenaline pumping throughout your visit; some of the highlights include a slide with a seven-story freefall drop, an interactive video game and waterslide combo ride, and an eight-lane tube slide that allows guests to race their friends to the bottom.

Typhoon Texas is not only a summer playground but also a fantastic water park near Houston, conveniently located just a 30-minute drive from the city center. Adrenaline junkies should go straight for the Duelin' Daltons, a slide tower with five different routes (one of which sends you on a 7-story, open-air freefall). In between thrilling rides, you must sample the onsite treats, which include hand-squeezed county fair lemonade, homemade, slow-smoked BBQ, and traditional TexMex dishes. Although the Houston location is the most popular, they also have a property in Austin if that is a more convenient trip for you.
