A cargo cult on Tanna Island honors John Frum, a mystery character. The islanders honor John on February 15, thinking that if they pray to him, he would bring them wealth in the shape of cargo from the United States.

During World War II, as American forces surged across the islands, the John Frum movement arose. Villagers began worshiping John Frum in the hopes that he would return and bring more gifts with him, believing the material prosperity provided by the strangers was magical.

A military parade is staged in his honor every year, indicating that this nonviolent cult is still alive today. Anyone fortunate enough to see the military-style procession on John Frum Day will have a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Land Diving Nagol Festival is one of the most famous festivals in Vanuatu. Land diving, the original bungee jump, is a rite-of-passage celebration that requires indigenous males to leap off a wooden structure while wearing vines wrapped around their ankles. The goal is for the vines linked just before the jumpers strike the ground to pull them up. It's a traditional manner of honoring the gods and ensuring a good yam crop.

Fanla Festival is a "wonderful chance" to learn about Ambrym culture and the Rom ceremonial. There will be approximately 15 dancers and nearly 300 villagers in attendance. A circumcision ritual with mask dance will take place throughout the occasion.

This event in the north of Ambrym, the island of enchantment and fire, features traditional cuisine, weaving, and bamboo flute music. The mysterious Rom dance, a religious ceremony thought to impact crops, will be performed during Fanla Festival. Vanuatu's customs include dancing, and viewing this dance provides you a look into a society that spans back thousands of years.

This event is also an excellent place to purchase wood or lava stone crafts.

Lakona Bay Kastam Festival is a two-day event organized by Chief John Star, Father Levi (a local Anglican pastor), and the villagers to promote and develop kastom in the Lakona Bay region.

The Lakona Bay Kastam Festival will welcome visitors with open arms to explore the Gaua Islands' indigenous customs. Traditional dances, wood and stone sculpting, musical performances, traditional magic shows, bonfires, feasts, and more will be performed.

Everyone is welcome to attend and enjoy the local custom dances, singing, music, and arts from Vanuatu's Northern Islands, which are hosted by the people of Lakona Bay. Yachts will be able to moor on the beach exactly beneath the shadow of the huge Mt Garet volcano. Cruising boats will be able to moor on the beach, right beneath the shadow of the mountains.

The Lamap Art and Cultural Festival takes place from August 11 to 12. Lamap's community gathers to celebrate art and culture with skill demonstrations, traditional storytelling, dance, and plenty of local cuisine. The lacf in Lamap Village is a two-day art and cultural festival where locals celebrate their culture, customs, and way of life. An actual pig exchange ritual, skill demonstrations, traditional dance and tales, as well as wonderful organic island cuisine, are all part of the program. The Vanuatu archipelago is one of the prime holiday locations in the South Pacific Ocean area, known for its stunningly clean coastline and laid-back vibe.

This Lamap Art and Cultural Festival is a chance for residents to celebrate their way of life, and it's an excellent opportunity to participate in rather than just observe their culture. In the evenings, you may mingle with the people while sipping kava and listening to string bands perform.

Back To My Roots Festival - one of the most famous festivals in Vanuatu- takes place in August at the northern part of Ambrym Island, which is famed for its beautiful wood carvings. During Back To My Roots festivals, visitors can enjoy a whole week of activities. Welcome custom dances, Tam Tam drumming, magic displays, and flute demonstrations, sand paintings, and a pig slaughter ritual for newly ordained chiefs or other chiefs gaining far higher levels in their chiefly titles are all part of the event.

The Back To My Roots Festival concludes with the Rom custom dance, which is Ambrym Island's identity dance.

The performance of the Rom dance serves as the festival's grand finale. Feel the rhythmic stomping of feet echo through the earth, and be mesmerized by the dancers' ornate masks.

The Fête de la Musique, often known as Music Day in English, is an annual music festival held on June 21st. Citizens and residents are encouraged to perform music outside in their communities, public places, and parks on Music Day.

Amateur and professional artists play at various places across the towns of Port Vila and Luganville on June 21st, just as they do in many other cities throughout the world. Musical artists volunteer their time for free, while audience members attend the concert for free.

The Fête de la Musique event will take place on the waterfront stage from 5 p.m. until midnight. At the Alliance, there will be an open stage. Everyone will be able to perform music on stage. Restaurants and pubs are also encouraged to take part by providing musical entertainment on June 21st.

The Saint Andrew Festival in Vanuatu is a Christian festival blended with local indigenous traditions. Locals from Rah and Mota Lava have been coming together in the Banks region for more than a century to celebrate the life of Saint Andrew, the Apostle. Locals and foreigners alike attend the three-day festival, which includes massive celebrations and feasts with cuisine cooked using geothermal energy. The festival honors Saint Andrews, who was a fisherman before becoming an Apostle for Jesus Christ.

Saint Andrew Festival is taken place in November 30th. Traditional fishing and a church service will be incorporated in the future to commemorate Saint Andrew's life as a fisherman and subsequently as a Good News courier. Some of the highlights of the day activities include Local fishing net, Fishing Baking, Church Service, Public Lunch/ Speech, Sea Snake Dance.

The Yam and Magic Festival - another most famous festival in Vanuatu - is an old cultural festival that honors the yam and shows how important it is to Ni-Vanuatu. Yam is the focus of this celebration. Yam is particularly significant in Ambrym, and it is used in many traditional ceremonies.

The stories, dances, and demonstrations involve ceremonial magic since Ambrym, an island mostly unaffected by western influences, is recognized as Vanuatu's hub of magic. Because the locals fervently believe in the presence of magic, this old holiday is taken seriously. If you go, be prepared for unusual things to happen.

Ceremony, Yam dance, woman's custom dance, men's custom dance, Rom dance, Magic, and other activities are available to visitors.
