Bill Culbertson, the founder of Whooplah LLC, is dedicated to developing family-friendly entertainment that assists parents in meeting and exceeding their parenting objectives. This step-by-step lesson book for learning 3D modeling fundamentals develops the readers modeling skills through a series of modeling projects designing modules for a medieval castle environment. As the text introduces new modeling skills, it also encourages the reader to complete repetitious activities, reinforcing skills learned along the way. The content is presented as though the reader is working in a video game studio, researching asset design, supplying placeholder assets to the team, and final model assets that are unwrapped and custom textured. The modeled environment is exported to the Unity game engine after completion of the modeling projects for use in a real game environment. Although the text uses Autodesk 3ds Max for the modeling program, the principles are transferable to other major modeling programs.
