Academie voor Hoger Kunst- en Cultuuronderwijs
Academie voor Hoger Kunst- en Cultuuronderwijs (Academy for Higher Arts and Cultural Education) was founded in 1981 and is located in the small city of Paramaribo (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants). This is one of the best universities in Suriname. Academie voor Hoger Kunst- en Cultuuronderwijs (AHKCO) is a coeducational Surinamese higher education institution that is officially recognized by the Ministerie van Onderwijs, Wetenschap en Cultuur (Ministry of Education, Science, and Culture of Suriname). The Academie voor Hoger Kunst- en Cultuuronderwijs (AHKCO) provides courses and programs that lead to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor's degrees in a variety of fields. AHKCO also provides students with a variety of academic and non-academic facilities and services, as well as administrative services.
Students learn how to do research and direct artistic, cultural, and communication expressions. Courses in sociocultural educational work, visual arts, and journalism are available. The AHKCO is linked with the IDOS, or Institute for Services, Research, and Study Guidance, a survey and research organization well known for its popularity polls of political parties and other subjects.
