Polytechnic College Suriname
Polytechnic College Suriname, founded in 1997, is a non-profit public higher-education school located in the small city of Paramaribo (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants). It ranks second among the best universities in Suriname. A branch campus of this university can be found at Nickerie. Polytechnic College Suriname (PTC) is a coeducational Surinamese higher education school that is officially recognized by the Ministerie van Onderwijs, Wetenschap en Cultuur (Ministry of Education, Science, and Culture of Suriname). Polytechnic College Suriname (PTC) offers a variety of courses and programs that lead to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor's and master's degrees in a variety of fields. This Surinamese higher-education school, which is 23 years old, has a selective admission policy based on students' previous academic records and grades. Applicants from all over the world are welcome to apply. PTC also offers students a variety of academic and non-academic services and facilities, including as study abroad and exchange programs, online courses and distance learning options, and administrative services.
Suriname's Polytechnic College (PTC) is a university of applied sciences that specializes in vocationally oriented technical education. It was created in Paramaribo on February 21, 1997. In the departments of mechanical engineering, agronomy, and information technology, a second branch was founded in Nickerie in 2014. Students get a Bachelor of Applied Technology degree upon completion of the program (B.Tech). Aside from the five bachelor's degree programs, there is one master's degree program that has been accredited by the National Accreditation Body (NOVA). Since 2013, the PTC has been ISO certified.
The PTC is a non-profit organization with a single governing body. The board is made up of nine members from various sectors who are appointed by the Ministry of Education, Science, and Culture on the recommendation of stakeholders for a three-year term. The foundation is supervised and controlled by the board. The director is in charge of the PTC's day-to-day operations.
